Fantastic Spring at Ilsan Lake Park, Goyang-si

english.visitkorea.or.kr:Goyang-si was once the gateway of Gwanseo road, which stretched from Hanyang (the capital city of the Joseon Dynasty) to Uiju.

Ilsan Lake Park, which is almost 300,000-pyeong (991,800 square meters), is the largest artificial lake park in the East. To control the water quality, only the chemically-treated and purified water from the Jamsil Water Reserve is added to the 90,000-pyeong (297,540 square feet) lake.

The park is an ideal place to take a rest and enjoy the natural scenery. There are over 100 different kinds of wild flowers, a forest with more than 200,000 trees, and a healthy population of red-crowned cranes.

The park is popular as a family picnic spot and school fieldtrip destination. Its wide range of facilities include a waterfront square, an artificial island, a 4.7-km connecting bike path, a parking lot (capacity: 1,050 cars), three playgrounds, a nature experience center, and a music fountain. The lake park also hosts Goyang Korea Flower Show and other fairs and exhibitions.
